Rob Bishline was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It was during the 1970s that Rob discovered his passion for music. His mother played an important role in his interest in music. Rob's mother plays the lap steel guitar, Hawaiian guitar, and the piano. Rob's musical destiny was forged by his mother’s natural love for music and the technical influence of having a machinist for a father. The combination of the two influences in his life set in motion the chain of events that would lead to the creation of some of the finest 5-string banjos ever built.
Rob graduated from Rogers High School and attended the Roberto Venn School of Luthiery in Phoenix, Arizona. He now heads up the Bishline Banjo Company and produces 50 to 60 banjos per year. Bishline banjos are played coast-to-coast in the United States, in Scotland, England, and Canada.
Rob Bishline is an accomplished banjo player and musician. He lists some of his musical influences as Cat Stevens, Gordon Lightfoot, and New Grass Revival.
