Banjo Chords: Position 2 - Minor Chords In The Standard Open G Tuning
The following chord charts are illustrations of minor chords at position 2 in the open G tuning. The chords follow a uniform positioning of the fingers on the fretboard of the 5-string banjo. Notice the unique placement of the fingers in forming the minor position 2 chords. The index finger depresses the second string on the corresponding fret, and the middle finger, ring finger, and pinky depress strings 4, 3, and 1 (respectively) on the next fret up. This pattern continues as it progresses up the fretboard. Practice identifying the locations and the respective chord name. When you have learned the minor chord forms in position 1 and 2... practice switching back and forth between the chord forms.
Be sure to reference the numbers to the left of the fretboard diagrams in order to pinpoint specific fret locations.
*** Important note to all banjoists: Bishline Banjo necks are easier to fret than other banjos! *** |
