| Banjo Chords: Position 2 - Major Chords In The Standard Open G Tuning The following chord charts are illustrations of major chords at position 2 in the open G tuning. The chords follow a uniform positioning of the fingers on the fretboard of the 5-string banjo. The difference in these chord forms as opposed to the major chords at position 1 is the reverse locations of the index and middle fingers. The locations differ as the chord progressions move up the neck. Practice identifying the locations and the respective chord name. When you have learned the chord forms of position 1 and 2, practice switching back and forth between the two chord forms. Be sure to reference the numbers to the left of the fretboard diagrams in order to pinpoint specific fret locations. |
